Bows - What Completes Every Outfit

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

Yesterday was a big day for me! I finally got up the courage to do something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I posted my first pet style video on YouTube!

Until I hit the record button on the camera yesterday, I questioned myself over and over: "would people watch the video?"; "would they laugh at me?"; or "would they just be cruel?". I let those negative thoughts almost prevent me from doing it, but as soon as I started talking to the camera, I knew it no longer mattered whether or not anyone watched the video, or whether they laughed or said hateful things. I had a blast doing it and I am so proud of how it turned out. I really hope you enjoy watching it, that you learned something, and that it inspires you to follow your passions.

I have so many ideas for videos and I cannot wait to film more. If you have anything you would like for me to discuss, please leave me a comment below, send me an email through my contact page, or direct message me on Instagram. I would LOVE to hear your ideas!

This first video was all about the hair bow!!

Here are some highlights:

  • Tip for Dogs With Fine Hair That Have Problems Holding Ponytails: For dogs with fine hair, orthodontic elastic rubber bands are a great option to keep your dog's ponytail from coming out. I personally use the 3/8th inch for Bailey. You can find these on Amazon here. (I do not receive any commission for sending you to this link. It is just for convenience).

  • Tip for Switching Bows Out Quickly for Photos: For those who take a lot of pictures of your dogs for Instagram, alligator clips are a great choice. You can put in one elastic band to hold your dog's ponytail in place, and then slide the bows in and out very easily with alligator clips. Click play on the video to watch me do this.

  • Tip for Every Day Wear: For everyday play, I love regular rubber bands for Bailey's bows. Because she has fine hair I often double up on the rubber bands (i.e., she uses her orthodontic rubber band as her base and then I wrap the rubber band that is attached to the hair bow around her smaller rubber band). This keeps everything in place!
